Data is organized in a hierarchy
consisting of parts (or processes), variables, and
data. Functionally, processes are identical to parts and
exist separately only for organizational purposes. Parts may contain any number of
variables. Associated with each variable
is a date and time, a numerical value, and an input variable.
Input variables are text strings storing data
relevant to any sample point (typically used for additional
analysis such as analysis of variance or ANOVA).
To setup and/or edit parts, processes, devices, and
variables left-click the Setup icon
located on the toolbar. This icon launches the setup dialog.

To add a part, process, device, or variable click the Add
Part
,
Add Process
,
Add Device
,
or Add Variable a
icons located on the Setup dialog toolbar.

The parts, processes, devices will appear in the
left-hand window. Left-click any part or process to view its
variables that appear in the right-hand window.
Double click any variables to set its properties.
Double click any device to set its properties.
To delete parts, processes, devices, or variables select
the item you want to delete and press the appropriate delete
button from the Setup dialog toolbar
.
Parts may be organized into groups with their own folder. By default, parts and processes are placed into the parts and
processes folders respectively; however additional folders may be created by pressing the folders icon
. After creating a new folder, parts may be added to it by right-clicking the folder and selecting
Add new item.
To move parts between folders, double-left-click any part and select the appropriate item type from the Part Type drop down menu.
